Land Cruise and Lunch at the Forest

You will travel to a rain-forest camp and restaurant deep in the mountains of the Bali-Gunung Batukaru. Your journey to the soul of Bali is one of comfort, excitement and adventure. We travel in a legendary customized air-conditioned Land Rover - only six people together with a Balinese expert guide and driver. The route through scenic country side and mostly off-road is not strenuous.
You visit both the unusual and traditional. You will see the Balinese people as they work, pray and play. You traverse spectacular countryside scenery, slowly and in comfort.
The trip is not arduous as there are plenty of stops along the way. You will visit an amazing stone quarry where it seems time has stood still for centuries. You will also pass temples, small forgotten villages and shrines, with the mountains always in the distance, getting closer. There is a stop at small farms to see the crops (vanilla, coffee, cocoa, cloves ) and the local animals, where we serve coffee, tea and cakes from the basket we carry on the roof of the car.
Participants will also see the hot spring in the rice fields where local people bathe and have done so for many years, and the endless beauty of the manicured rice terrace, green or golden brown, depending on harvest time. See the amazing irrigation system and the river that flows down to the sea. The vehicle climbs to over 900 meters and you are above the rice bowl of Jatiluwih and the plains of Bali.
The mountain air is cooler and you are in an area so different - it is nothing like the Bali you will be staying in. The forests have turned into bamboo jungles and ferns abound - the people change and its here you find the camp restaurant.

A restaurant built from local bamboo in the middle of no-where is where we serve delicious Balinese mountain food - not quite ''haute cuisine'' but almost. Great food, good wine and cognac with your coffee. You will find yourself high in the mountains, in a bamboo restaurant, high in a forest, miles from no-where, in the secret soul of Bali. There are walking tracks and paths and cool, clear mountain water, wild orchids and birds and an overall stillness. Relaxed, happy, and feeling different, you are then driven back to your hotel by minibus after a very remarkable day. If you go on the late morning trip you will go by minibus straight to the camp and restaurant where you join the other guests who have arrived by Land Rover. After lunch it's your turn for the off road adventure arriving back at your hotel at sunset.

Maximum capacity : 60 person.
